Sergio Busquets: I understand that Pedro has doubts about his future

Sergio Busquets gave a press conference at the St. Regis hotel in San Francisco early on Thursday morning (CET) and spoke about the 'Pedro case'.

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the teams interested in signing the Spanish forward, who has a 30 million euro release clause.

"I hope that he stays," Busquets said. "That's what I would like, but it is his decision."

The Barcelona midfielder added: "I've spoke with him, but I am not going to say what he said to me. I understand that he has doubts because he wants to play."

Questioned, again, about Pedro's doubts, Busquets gave a clear response. "Pedro has played less than he thought and for that reason it's normal he's thinking what he is thinking," he admitted.

With regards to the win against Los Angeles Galaxy, 'Busi' was happy with the defending and the attitude of his teammates.

"Results aren't important in pre-season, but we did well in defence, although we weren't too effective in attack," he explained.

It's Busquets first season at Barcelona without Xavi, who is a big loss.

"I miss him a lot," he stated. "It's already happened with the national team [Xavi leaving]. He was a leader and a captain.

"You will notice his absence on and off the pitch. With his departure, I have to take a step forward. That, though, is a responsibility and an honour."
