Sergio Busquets signs new Barça deal to keep him at Camp Nou until 2019

Barcelona announced on Thursday that Sergio Busquets has extended his contract with the club

It was widely reported last week that Busquets, whose contract was due to expire in 2018, has renewed his terms, keeping him at the club for an extra year until 2019

Also included in the new deal is the option for another year.

The central midfielder, who came through the club's La Masia academy, signed the new contract at the club's offices on Thursday at 13h.

Busquets becomes the fourth highest paid player in the Barça squad, behind Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez, while his new release clause is €175million

With Paris Saint-Germain linked with the 26-year-old last week, this is the commitment most Cules will have been seeking.
