Sergio Busquets never thought he would leave Barcelona

Sergio Busquets says he never believed he would leave Barcelona even though his contract negotiations were dragging.

"The truth is that I never saw myself leaving Barça," explained the midfielder after finally agreeing to pen a new deal with the Spanish champions. 

"The objective is no other than to keep winning titles for the club. I've signed for five seasons and two more optional ones and I hope to be able to keep the run from the last few years going.

"All negotiations have their own process, I would have liked it to be a bit faster, but I'm very happy."
