Sergi Samper will need to leave Barça to progress elsewhere

Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president of FC Barcelona, insinuated that the best solution for B team player Sergi Samper was to leave the club.

Without wishing to enter into details or interfere with the duties of the club's sporting section, Bartomeu indicated that Samper needs to progress away from the Camp Nou.

Bartomeu clarified: "Samper is one of those players who are interesting for the club. His high prospects for the future and footballing formation, along with his development as a person, perhaps lead the coaches to think that he has reached the limit within the B team and they are now too small for (his abilities).

For this reason, Sergi Samper needs to keep growing and if he can not do this in the Barcelona first team, it is best that he does so in another team with the objective of returning to Barcelona's first team in a few years' time."
