Sergi Samper in talks with Barcelona over contract extension

Sergi Samper, Barcelona B midfielder, is negotiating with the club to extend his contract for three more years, from 2017 until 2020. However nothing has been signed yet. 

Sources close to the player have confirmed to SPORT that there is no deal yet, although conversations are in progress. 

The 21-year-old midfielder is one of those who may be able to take a jump up to the first-team next season. The club are thinking about having him complete pre-season with them. However, they also have not ruled out loaning him to another side either. 

Sporting Gijon have shown interest in him, similar to how they loaned Alen Halilovic this year. Samper has rejected numerous offers in the past so he can carry on with his dream of playing for Barcelona.

This season he played three Copa del Rey games, two Champions League games, one Club World Cup game and one from La Liga.
