Sergi Roberto: The season's long, we have to be optimistic & I'm confident in this team

Sergi Roberto was one of Barcelona’s better players in their draw with Malaga. He passed through the mixed zone to give his view on the match.

“[Malaga] were well positioned in the area. At the end of the game they had 10 players back there and the ball just didn’t want to go in,” he said, before praising the work Gerard Pique did as a makeshift striker in search of the win.

“We had Pique up front because he’s good in the air, but we didn’t have any success. But there’s nothing we can do now.

“We have to think about our next games. The season’s long, we have to be optimistic and I’m confident in this team.”

Barça are back in action against Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday and travel to San Sebastian to take on Real Sociedad next weekend at Anoeta, a ground where they’ve not won in La Liga since 2007.
