Sergi Roberto will train on Monday normally after recovering from the left knee problem which kept him out of the 5-0 win over Espanyol. The Reus-born midfielder is expected to take part in the session on Monday afternoon and be included in the squad for the Champions League opening clash with Juventus on Tuesday.
Whether or not he starts is another matter. His versatility opens the door to the coach to pick him in various positons, either in midfield or defence. His chances of starting depend on the formation Ernesto Valverde opts for, and whether or not he uses wingers.
Sergi Roberto's recovery leaves just Rafinha and Arda Turan injured - they were left out of the squad to face Espanyol along with Thomas Vermaelen, Aleix Vidal and Denis Suarez. Andre Gomes is the player most similar to Sergi Roberto who was in the squad - and he might be left out for the Juve game.
