Sebastian Giovinco's agent says Barcelona have made contact
The agent of Italian footballer Sebastian Giovinco, Andrea d'Amico, has admitted to RaiSports that he has had contact with FC Barcelona. In Italy they say that the former Juventus striker, at Toronto FC since January 2015 in MLS, has been contacted by Ariedo Braida, their international sporting director.
Giovinco (nicknamed the Atomic Ant) may be on the agenda for Barcelona to reinforce in the winter window, if they cannot sign Nolito - their first choice.
D'Amico said that FC Barcelona asked about the striker's situation now that the season has finished with his current side and the people around him indicate that he intends to return to Europe.
He hopes to play in Euro 2016 in France and knows the only option is to prove to Italy's coach that he is worth picking, by playing back in Europe for one of the big clubs.
