Schalke "can't do anything else" to convince Barça target Goretzka to stay
The German club's sporting director has done everything possible

Leon Goretzka is a player in fashion in Germany and his performances this season for Schalke 04 have seen him lined up as a possible signing by Barcelona, although they have competition from Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus.
Goretka, 22, is out of contract next summer and from January is free to negotiate his future with whoever he wants. In this sense, the German international has a renewal on the table from his club, although he's so far refused to accept.
The club's sporting director, Christian Heidel, has told Sky Germany that "we have done everything possible" to retain the player and "we can't do anything else."
He added: "We are trying to convince him, also financially. We are trying to look for the best way to convince him to stay, but without putting pressure on him."
Goretka signed for Schalke 04 in 2013 and penned a five-year deal, which is now running out...
