Al Sadd manager claims his side have completed Xavi signing

Abdullah Al-Berik, manager of El Sadd, has claimed that Barcelona central midfielder Xavi has signed for his club.

"Al Sadd have completed the signing of Barcelona captain Xavi, this is a photo of him with sporting director Muhammed Ghoulam," wrote Al-Berik on the social media networks, posting the picture with Barcelona's No 6. 

Xavi, 35, will be incorporated into the Al Sadd squad next season, where he will play for three seasons, as well as working at the Aspire Academy.

He will also study for his coaching badges and could manage Qatar at the World Cup in 2022. 

Formed in Barcelona's youth academy and a player in the first team since 1998, Xavi has won 25 titles with Barcelona. 

Neither the player or Barça have confirmed the transfer. 

The midfielder could play his last game for the club in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic.
