Robert Fernandez says Barça could sign Pedro replacement

With the transfer window shut, Barcelona’s sporting director Robert Fernandez passed by SPORT’s offices on Thursday morning to talk about the club’s activity in the transfer market.

On the possibility of replacing Pedro, Fernandez commented that “there are four months to study the arrival of a replacement” but he added that the winter market is always complicated. He also spoke about Pedro’s departure for Chelsea, saying that the relationship “ended well, in fact we’ve met once since when our agendas permitted it.”

He also dedicated some words to his predecessor, Andoni Zubizarreta: “These jobs are difficult an you always have to assume a lot of responsibilities. I think that Andoni did a magnificent job. He did some great work and the team has always been competitive and winning titles.”

Robert Fernandez then spoke about the relationship between a sporting director and the manager, saying that “in the end, with regards to decisions on incoming players, we have to be in agreement.”

Finally, he also revealed Rafinha’s renewal is close to be signed; Neymar’s contract will be the next; and then Alen Halilovic, who is currently on loan at Sporting Gijon.
