Fernandez: I want Pedro and Adriano to stay

Barça's new secretary, Robert Fernandez, has shown that he is convinced that Pedro and Adriano will continue at the club, despite the constant rumours surrounding possible departures for them both. "I spoke with them in San Francisco, and I have the same feeling now as I did then. I believe that they are going to stay," said Fernandez, during the presentation of the new hierarchy at the Barcelona.

Regarding the dimunutive winger, Robert Fernandez maintains his club's stance: if someone wants to sign Pedro, they will have to activate his release clause. "He has a clause of 30 million euros. We are waiting to see if any team will decide to pay it. But we don't want him to go. If he goes, Barça lose a player who is capable of offering things both on and off the pitch. And this is very difficult," he explained.

On the other hand, the secretary also highlighted the "exemplary behaviour" of Pedro throughout the years, believing that he is someone that is a model professional who has respect for his teammates.

Regarding Adriano, Robert Fernandez was also optimistic. "It is a similar situation to Pedro's. In the coming hours there will be developments surrounding him, but at the end of it he will stay."

In a situation where neither of the two leaves, Robert Fernandez confirmed that the squad would then be "closed". However, the Blaugrana secretary also said that "the club is always alert to the options on the market."

"There is sufficient time to think of reinforcements ahead of January," said Fernandez about the hypothetical departure of Pedro and/or Adriano.
