Revealed: The numbers behind Santiago Bueno's Barça move

Uruguayan centre-back Bueno will join up with Barça's B team and is a bet for the future

The figures involved in Barcelona's move for Peñarol defender Santiago Bueno are now known. The 18-year-old is a bet for the future and will join up with Barça B after his participation in the U20 Sudamericano.

In principle, Barcelona have agreed to pay a fixed sum of one million euros to Peñarol. The Uruguayan club will maintain 20 percent of the centre-back's rights. In addition, as is usual in these type of operarions, there are also a number of add-ons included depending on the player's progression with the Catalan club.

For example, there will be a payment of five million euros made if Bueno consolidates his place in the Barça first team by playing a certain amount of games.

On Monday night, Uruguay's U20 side beat Argentina U20s (3-0) in the Sudamericano which is currently taking place in Ecuador. Bueno was a substitute and did not come on in a competition where he's rotated between starting and taking his place on the bench.
