No rest for Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto ahead of Manchester City game

No rest for Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto ahead of Manchester City game

The two full-backs were at the training ground on Sunday with an eye on the Champions League

Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto are in the final phases of their recoveries and both hope to be back for Wednesday's Champions League game against Manchester City.

The two full-backs were at the Ciutat Esportiva on Sunday morning, despite the fact Luis Enrique had given his players the day off after the win against Deportivo La Coruna.

And the news coming out of 'Can Barça' is positive.

Alba is the one who will be in the best condition for City, given he's now practically recovered from the hamstring strain he picked up on Spain duty earlier this month.

The 10 day absence given by the club is nearly up and he's expected to join his team-mates in training on Monday.

Sergi Roberto's recovery is also going well. However, the club never revealed how long he would be out for, although in principle he will be back for City.

Therefore, Luis Enrique will have his two full-backs back in action for the game against Pep Guardiola's side. Jasper Cillessen will be the only player missing through injury.
