Reports suggest Barcelona may have actually had to pay €12million for Douglas

It's been claimed that Barcelona may have paid €12million for Brazilian right back Douglas - three times more than the announced €4m - by Cadena Ser show 'Què t'hi jugues' on their Twitter profile.

And they report that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu wants to get to the bottom of how the signing was made.

According to the same source, Albert Valentin, who works beneath Andoni Zubizarreta, would be the man in the firing line if anything is revealed.

Valentin may have worked with an intermediary on the transfer, something the club previously denied. It was Valentin's reports which opened the doors to Douglas' signing, although Zubizarret and Luis Enrique also backed it.

Bartomeu is now allegedly looking into the transfer, although the club have denied any of this information is true when asked by SPORT
