Reports: Marseille's Maxime Lopez a possible Barça target

The young midfielder is having a great season and is being tracked by the Catalan club

Marseille's Maxime Lopez is reported to be on Barcelona's agenda for next season. The young player, who's been performing at a very high level in recent weeks, is being followed by the Catalan club, according to Foot Mercato.

Maxime, a central midfielder, recently turned 19 and has rapidly become one of the French side's best players. The cited media say that his youth is one of the reasons Barça are most keen. So far this season, Lopez has provided five goals and scored one in 16 appearances.

If Lopez is ruled out, Barça are also following Borussia Monchengladbach's Mahmoud Dahoud as a Plan B. Dahoud is also an option for Unai Emery's Paris Saint-Germain, Barça's rivals in the next round of the Champions League.

Even though we're still in the January window, it's unlikely Barcelona will do any business and the club are looking at potential deals for ths summer.
