The Premier League club offered 50 million euros according to Cope

Zidane does not want to lose the player and he's in line for a wage rise

Real Madrid want to tie down one of their young stars, Marco Asensio. Half of Europe are keen on the former Mallorca player, who's still just 21, and offers have began to arrive for him.

According to Copa, Liverpool offered 50 million euros for the attacking midfielder, but Madrid turned down the proposal. Their stance is clear: Asensio is not for sale. Zinedine Zidane wants him in his squad next season no matter what.

In fact, Florentino Perez was willing to let him leave on loan again -- he was at Espanyol last season -- to play more minutes, but Zidane was against that idea. Now, the Madrid president is working on giving him a wage rise and a new release clause.

Asensio earns less than most players at Madrid, with a contract worth 1.5 million euros a season which runs until 2022.

He shone against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, as he did in the first leg, coming on for Isco this time and scoring the fourth goal of Madrid's thrilling win.
