Real Madrid are trying to hijack Barça's move for Gabriel Jesus

Real Madrid have begun their offensive to try to torpedo Barça's signing of Gabriel Jesus. The president of 'Los Blancos', Florentino Perez, has already given the order to meet with the player, and director general, Jose Angel Sanchez, is working to arrange this.

The club have already met with the European-based agent of the player, Giovanni Branchini, to confirm their interest and have also sent a delegation to Brazil to speak with the forward, his direct agents and Palmeiras.

There are excellent scouting reports of Gabriel Jesus in the Bernabeu offices and Florentino does not want the gem of Brazilian football to escape him once more, as happened in 2013 with Neymar. Barça, as in that case, have advanced in the race for the player's signature, making progress with both Gabriel Jesus and his club.

The Catalan club, through director Raul Sanllehi, have things going in the right direction and are aware that several European clubs could attempt to ruin the deal. Real Madrid are seriously pursuing the Brazilian.

Gabriel Jesus has already expressed his desire to play at Barcelona, and would be prepared to spend a year on loan at Palmeiras, before making the leap to La Liga. The Barça technical staff have provided positive reports regarding his signing and all that is left is to agree the economics of the deal for all concerned. Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested and have made this known to Palmeiras.
