Rakitic admits he was shocked when he saw Vidal's "ugly" injury

The Croatian was nearby when the right-back hurt his ankle against Alaves

Ivan Rakitic was a witness to the horrifying injury suffered by Aleix Vidal against Alaves. It was an unpleasant experience, as the Croatian explained after the match: "I hope it's not the worst case scenario, but the truth is that when I saw it I was quite scared. At first glance, being honest, it looked like a really ugly injury."

As for the game, which Barcelona won 6-0, Rakitic added: "We played a really serious game, patiently waiting for the goals to come. I really think it was a complete performance."

Asked why he didn't over-celebrate his goal in the win, he said: "It's been a long time since I scored, but it wasn't about going crazy and ropping my shirt off. With the score as it was, it would have been a lack of respect to the Alaves fans."

The midfielder also noted a clear improvement in his game, which he justified by stating that "every minute I play is used to gain more rhythm, to feel more comfortable on the pitch and to do everything easier."
