Rafinha delighted with Mathieu and Xavi news

Rafinha Alcantara considers the signing of Jeremy Mathieu to be "a great incoroporation for the team". The central midfielder also said that Xavi Hernandez's decision to stay with the team was great news because he be able "learn from the best".

The Brazilian was speaking to the press after training on Wednesday, adding that after returning from a successful loan spell with Celta Vigo he is "prepared to work and give his all".

"We are all learning from [Luis Enrique], from our teammates and each one of us is giving our best," he explained.

Referring back to Xavi, the younger of the Alcantara brothers is clearly happy to see the veteran midfield continuing with Barça for now.

"Xavi is Barcelona," he proclaimed.

"For us it is great news that he will stay and share the dressing room with us. I am going to learn from the best and I am delighted that he is staying.

"To learn from the best is incredible." 

However, Rafinha avoided courting controversy when he was asked whether Xavi's decision could hinder the team, or if it could hinder his role his role in the side.

"That I don't know, it is a question you would have to ask another person," the 21-year-old answered.
