PSG reject huge Barça bid for Marquinhos

Barcelona's quest to sign Marquinhos continues to fall on deaf ears in the French capital, according to reports in the Brazilian press.

The publication 'Globoesporte' claimed on Wednesday that Paris Saint-Germain have rejected an offer of €43million from Barça for the young defender.

Marquinhos is expected to play third fiddle at PSG this season, with David Luiz and Thiago Silva starting, but it doesn't seem to mean the Ligue 1 champions will be prepared to sell him.

In fact, they don't just want to keep him, but are also prepared to offer him a new contract until 2019.

His agent will listen to the offer from the club.

Whatever way you look at it, it's bad news for Barcelona in their continued search for a new central defender.
