The court believes he is a flight risk so will lock him up

Andreu Ramos and Shahe Ohannessian are also being charged but not kept captive

A Spanish judge decided that former Barcelona president must be kept in prison without bail for wrongdoings related to Operation Jules Rimet, because he is a flight risk.

He is accused of alleged money laundering and criminal organisation. He is said to have laundered 15 million euros in Andorra for audiovisual rights to Brazil matches, before he took over at Barcelona.

National Court prosecutor Vicente González Mota asked the investigating magistrate, Carmen Lamela, to order Sandro Rosell be jailed immediately and his wish was granted. Rosell had spoken for two hours in court on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile Andreu Ramos and Shahe Ohannessian are still in trouble but free with preventative measures - they have to present themselves once a month before the court.
