Luis Enrique & Robert Fernandez to meet to discuss dealing with Vidal injury

The coach and sporting director will decide what to do about the gap in the squad later this week

Aleix Vidal's serious injury has moved the club, the dressing room and Robert Fernandez's technical team. It's a special case given the right-back looked set to leave just two months ago, but through hard work and humility he had turned his situation around, winning back Luis Enrique's confidence.

That meant the club decided to stick with him and Sergi Roberto as their right-back options until the end of the season. However, Barça now have a problem as Sergi Roberto is now their only fit right sided full-back -- and he's not even a natural in the position, given he's moved there from midfield.

To look at the situation, Luis Enrique and Robert Fernandez will meet as soon as the team return fron Paris, where they will play Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday. However, as is normal, they will also use the flight to gather their thoughts on how to manage the situation.

Barcelona must decide if they will look into a limited market to replace Vidal, bring back a player who is elsewhere, continue using B team players as backup or to use first team players, like Javier Mascherano, in the position.

The decision must be taken quickly, too. Time is not on their side.
