President Bartomeu: "Barcelona have the best attack in the world"

Josep Maria Bartomeu sang the praises of the Barcelona players for their 6-0 win against Elche and is now looking forward to Wednesday's Copa del Rey tie with Atletico Madrid.

The Barça president was particularly happy with Lionel Messi's continued brilliance.

"Messi plays for the team," Bartomeu told Canal+. "He took part in the thrashing and wasn't just looking to improve his statistics or score goals for himself."

However, he's also wary that nothing is won in January, adding: "There are still many games left. We have a very interesting second half of the season for neutral spectators, but especially for the Cules.

"We are the team who have conceded the least goals and this allows us to tackle the second part of the season with confidence. We are continuing to improve."

On the team's forwards, especially Messi and Neymar, the president of the club was clear in his opinions.

"I think that we have the best attack in the whole world," he continued. "That was demonstrated today. It is such a powerful attack."

Looking ahead to the match against Atletico, Bartomeu concluded: "It will be a difficult game. We have to go to win. Atletico have improved in the last two seasons and we can't rest on the result from the first leg."
