The operation allegedly relates to supposed money laundering from television rights to Brazil games

Agents entered homes and officies in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Andorra per 'El Confidencial' and 'El Mundo'

Former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has been arrested as part of an operation against money laundering, Spanish police confirmed.

His wife Marta Pineda was also arrested after raids in Barcelona, Gerona and Lleida in Operation Rimet.

Rosell, it is alleged by El Mundo, was involved in money laundering relating to Brazilian national team games, before being elected Barcelona president in 2010.

It is understood that the club are not considering making a statement because the case has nothing to do with them and is unrelated to the legal problems surrounding the former president’s signing of Neymar from Santos.
