Player Ratings from Barcelona's 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina

Ter Stegen 6

The German goalkeeper was unable to save the first goal, with Bernardeschi's unmarked position giving him the opportunity to finish. However, for the second goal, he left space at the near post. At the end of the first half, he came out in a risky situation and did well.

Sergi Roberto 6

Despite not playing in his natural position, he didn't do a bad job. From corners, he was prepared to organise the game and his defence. When he didn't have a lot to do, he was out of position and Pique had to save him on one occasion. When he moved to central midfield he was more comfortable but didn't shine.

Vermaelen 7

The Belgian stood out. Despite perhaps being able to do more for the second goal, he did well. He stopped a three on two situation with his right foot and on various occasions slowed Fiorentina's advances. He is a good defender, if injuries allow him to be.

Pique 6

After the first goal he tried to involve himself in equalising quickly, but found himself sometimes out of position. He helped to double up to support Sergi Roberto, when he looked to be out of his depth at points of the game.

Jordi Alba 6

The left-back was beaten by Joaquin for the second goal. Despite this, he was active and helped to support Suarez and Iniesta on the wing. He crossed and played well. However, in the second half, he was not as prevalent in attack.

Busquets 6

The nutmeg from Borja Valero during the first goal hurt him. Despite this, he pressured and tried to make things happen in the first half. At the start of the second half, he returned to trying to trigger counters. He lacked physical company in midfield.

Rakitic 8

A good game for Rakitic, who has returned to the Blaugrana raring to go. He saw a shot deflected after combining with Pique and had a great chance on goal moments later due to a good pass from Iniesta. He assisted Luis Suarez with a fantastic volleyed through ball with his first touch. Creativity and hard work.

Iniesta 8

He controlled the game. Started as the leader and fired around several passes with intent, including one which was stopped by Rakitic - but the Croatian didn't take a good touch and couldn't shoot. Opened up the game with control, calmness and a tempo. Substituted by Munir at the break due to taking a first-half knock.

Rafinha 5

From the start of the game he tried hard but it came to little. Tried some passes and had good ideas but they ended up being predictable. He ran and ran but couldn't offer anything.

Pedro 6

Tried again and again, but similarly to Rafinha couldn't produce anything. Played a couple of good diagonal balls but Tatarusanu was always there to deny him. After doing well with his left foot, he continued to show his potential, but his mind may be away from Barça.

Luis Suarez 7

Despite not playing for the full game, he did well. He wasn't able to connect well with his head to a Rakitic pass initially, but in the following combination with the Croatian he found the net. Could have scored a second goal, but he was left claiming a penalty after being found by a great pass. Substituted for Sandro.

Munir 6

Offered a good header but the attack in the second half offered little despite working hard.

Bartra 6

Played at right-back in place of Sergi Roberto, who returned to his natural position, and started with plenty of effort and desire to attack. Looked comfortable.

Sandro 6

The Blaugrana attack wasn't too lively during the minutes that he played. Despite this, he tried to create some moves from deep.

Masip 6

Responded well to the first shot he faced from close range.

Gumbau -

Didn't have time to showcase his game.
