Pique gives his opinion on Barça's possible interest in Coutinho

The Barcelona defender was asked if he thinks the club should move for the Liverpool man

Gerard Pique responded to various questions from his fans through Facebook Live on Friday.

One of the names the Barcelona player was asked about was Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, who has been linked with the Catalan club.

“That’s Robert Fernandez’s area, as sporting director, but obviously if the best players come we received them with our arms open,” Pique said.

“But it’s other people who are in charge of the needs of the team.”

Remember that, just this week, former Barça player Rivaldo also praised Coutinho and said he’d be good at Camp Nou, although Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has no plans to sell.

Pique believes that Coutinho, a close friend of Neymar’s, would adapt well to the Blaugrana, as he did in his time with Zaragoza, a time he remembers fondly.

He added: “It was a really nice year for me. I was 19, it was my first experience in La Liga, I remember it with a lot of affection.

“We qualified for the UEFA Cup. I hope things go well for [Zaragoza], they get promoted and I’m able to return to La Romareda.”
