The signing of Philippe Coutinho is a question of hours away. as SPORT revealed on Monday, the operation to sign the Liverpool player is in the final stages. In fact, a delegation from Barcelona are in England trying to colse the transfer. Barça hope to present the player this week.
Coutinho is, therefore, close to becoming Barça's third new signing for 2017-18 after the deals for Gerard Deulofeu (12m) and Nelson Semedo (30m). The versatile Brazilian midfielder, 25, is one of the club's top targets to strengthen Ernesto Valverde's hand.
Barça have had to push for the player and on Tuesday will offer 90 million euros plus bonuses in a bid to close the deal. The owners of the Premier League club have given the OK to talks, but Jurgen Klopp is not happy about selling and losing one of his stars.
Coutinho is a player who can play wide on the left or in central midfielder, but could be used, initially, as the replacement for Neymar.
