Pepsi an alternative to Qatar Airways to sponsor Barça's shirt

Pepsi could be the alternative to Qatar Airways if Barcelona do not reach an agreement with their current shirt sponsor to renew.

According to information which has appeared on ‘OKdiario’ in recent hours, talks with the North American company have been initiated by Barcelona in the last few days and could already be “very advanced”.

What’s more, contracts and numbers are already being spoken about. It would be a five-year deal worth 60 million euros per season for Pepsi to appear on the front of Barcelona’s shirt.

Talks with Qatar continue, but Barça are seeking alternatives. Even though the club remain calm - vice president Carles Vilarrubi suggested on TV3 the club could go a season without a sponsor on the shirt - they are looking at all the options.

Representatives from the club were at Super Bowl 50 in America earlier this week, which allowed them to have further talks with Pepsi.

According to the same information, Pepsi, who use Lionel Messi in their advertising across the world, are looking to improve their relationship with Sport - their brands Lay’s, Gatorade and Pepsi Max are Champions League sponsors.

Luis Suarez is also one of the athletes who appears in their promotional campaigns.
