Pep Guardiola will not sign any FC Barcelona players for City

The arrival of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City will change the transfer market a lot this summer. City have allowed him total liberty to set up a new team capable of winning everything in the years ahead, but Pep and the club directors will not move for any Barcelona players, unless the Blaugrana puts them on the market. They want to avoid institutional conflict and will avoid trying to lure Barcelona players.

Pep has been speaking to Txiki Begiristain, City's sporting director, for weeks, with the objective of moving forward with the project. City are estimating a minimum of eight signings, prioritising the defence. Two full-backs and two centre-backs, one or two central midfielders, and an offensive compliment to Kun Aguero, whom Pep likes a lot. The names are starting to become clear, but no Barcelona players are among them.

There have been rumours in the English press about Messi, Neymar and Suarez, as well as Claudio Bravo, but the club haven't made movements towards any of these stars and nor will they. Guardiola knows tring to sign any of the trident will be virtually impossible. The footballer that would be perfect is Sergio Busquets, and he would like to sign for Pep at City, but that option will not be picked either, to avoid confrontations.

City are working on their list of stars, with 250 million euros to splurge. Barcelona can rest easy, though.
