Pele's take on world's best player won't go down well with Cristiano Ronaldo

One of football's greats has given their opinion on who they think is the best player right now

Football legend Pele has entered into the debate about the world's best footballer at the moment.

And the Brazil icon, who doesn't like to talk about whether players are better than he was, had no doubts about who's the best when asked for his opinion on the matter.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is a great goalscorer, but Messi is the best," Pele manifested.

What's more, he feels that Messi is the best player to have played the game in the last 15 years.

They're comments which Cristiano Ronaldo won't like, given he got angry with similar remarks made by Xavi Hernandez recently.

"You mention several names, but from the last 10 or 15 years, I think Messi's been the most consistent player, without doubt," Pele said in a question and answer session.

"You could mention others, like Cristiano Ronaldo, who's a great goalscorer, he reminds me of Ronaldo.

"In the end, Ronaldo score goals and you see Messi giving assists and creating play, as well as scoring.

"In terms of being a complete player, there's no doubt that Messi is the best."
