Pedro: My release clause has dropped and I have offers to leave Barcelona

FC Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez has said that he does not want to think about his future at the moment, despite the fact his release clause has dropped and he has offers.

"I don't want to think about the future, I want to rest, be calm and to start the season on Wednesday with my teammates," he said at a football camp in Balaguer. "What comes after that, we will see."

Pedro added that he hasn't "spoken with [Chelsea manager Jose] Mourinho," but said that he didn't "want to say anything else because it would be a lack of respect to my club, Barça. Now I just want to enjoy the camp with the kids.

However, he did reveal that his release clause has been lowered to 30 million euros. "That's true, both the club and I decided to reduce the clause and it's true there are offers. I'm in a difficult situation at Barcelona.

The Canary Islander recognised that "it's a complicated situation. Everyone wants more minutes, more options, to be in the front line... here it's true that that is complicated. I know any other place will not be like Barça. It's a dream [to be at the club], I've won a lot of titles and it has filled me with joy and satisfaction, but everyone has the ambition to continue improving and to play."

He didn't deny that, ideally, he'd love to continue at Barcelona. "I hope that I can retire at Barça, but it's a very demanding club. It's difficult to be at that level, we will see what happens. Everyone is happier when they play. I don't know when there will be a solution. I want to begin pre-season and we will see."

With regards to the new season, Pedro gave his opinion on the signings of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal. "Barça are building a competitive team, I like the signings," he said, before supporting Lionel Messi: "Not one person can doubt that Leo is the best in the world and, thanks to him, Argentina are better than they would be."

On Iker Casillas, he concluded: "It's a shame a player like Iker said goodbye in that way. I wish him the best at his new club [Porto] and I hope we can talk soon."
