Pedro message to critics: "Maybe I need a goal, but I'm happy"

Pedro is looking forward to taking on opponents in Europe again, with the Champions League starting on Tuesday.

Barca play on Wednesday against Apoel Nicosia, and Pedro say they are "physically strong".

"We always strive to reach the final of this competition, last year it was a shame we were knocked out against Atletico and we hope we can win this year's title but it will be difficult."

He has been criticised for his performances this season, but Pedro is not bothered.

"Maybe I need a goal, but I am happy," said the Canarian.

He also spoke about Munir El Haddadi and Sandro Ramirez.

"They need to continue working with the same reassurance, enthusiasm and confidence. They have adapted quickly to the dressing room, started strongly and it is good if they can keep that level."

On his own role, he said: "I just want to work and be in the team. I'm competing with the best strikers in the world. I want to do my job and let Luis Enrique decide."

He also praised Lionel Messi. "When he goes on the field, you know what happens. He resolves matches, he is decisive.

"It is good that the team enjoys him, he's one of the best in the world. It's amazing to watch him like this."
