Pau Lopez: I've never tried to hurt anyone on the pitch

Pau Lopez has come out in public to defend himself, saying he did not mean to stamp on Lionel Messi's ankle.

The goalkeeper insisted: "I've never gone onto a pitch to cause damage to anyone". 

The young stopper added: "Aonyone who thinks I go out onto a pitch to cause damage to a colleague in this profession does not know me well.

Never, not now and not in the future. It was somethign that happens in the game, like the blow Turan dealt to my head - no worries now."

Pau insisted he has a "very calm conscience" and said "when the game ends, it ends, and whoever doesn't see it like that has a problem."
