The next few hours will be key in deciding the future of Valencia striker Paco Alcacer who is on the brink of signing for Barcelona.

There is a high level of interest and speculation of the deal being finalised in the near future, although the Spain international trained at his normal level at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paternao on Friday.

Alcacer has been seen less than stressed than in previous training sessions and has taken part in the same drills as his team-mates with a video session and subsequent physical exercises.

Valencia coach Pako Ayestaran will talk to his squad at noon on Friday as the team prepares for life after the 22-year-old striker.

Alcacer has already announced his intention to sign for Barça after agreeing a five-year contract. He understands that the Catalan club are closing the last details of the deal that is worth a fixed fee of 30 million euros five million in variables.

The striker also asked not to be included in Los Che's squad to face Eibar on Saturday to avoid any unwanted injuries that could scupper a potential transfer.

It also hasn't been ruled out that later in the day we could see Alcacer partake in a press conference in which he explains his reasons from leaving Valencia.
