Paco Alcacer: Our winning mentality was the key

Paco Alcacer, the scorer of Barcelona's first goal against Athletic, has vindicated himself again. He was picked to start by Ernesto Valverde and then spoke to BeIn Sports afterwards.

"The team's mentality that it has every time it goes out onto the pitch to win is becoming key," said Alcacer. "The team only thinks about the games and not on the league table. What is important is the game in the present, not the future.

"The only thing I do is try to work to help the team. To take advantage of the chances that present themselves and score on the chances you create. It's what I've always done and if I can do it with goals, even better."

On Messi he added: "The best moment of Messi has been going on since the day he started to play football. He shows it every day, with more goals. He has got the team where it is."
