Barça hope to have him back from a ruptured tendon in the New Year

It has been two months since Ousmane Dembele got injured at the Colisuem Alfonso Pérez against Getafe and he's taking steps towards making his return. The Frenchman appeared on Friday afternoon in the training session ahead of the game against Leganes this weekend, greeting members of the coaching staff.

Dembele was on the Tito Vilanova training pitch for a few minutes before he left to continue his recovery work on one of the annexed pitches at Barça's training base. There, he continued to follow the specific plan he has in place to aid his recovery from a ruptured tendon, which initially ruled him out for four months.

The most expensive signing in Barça's history is on track to return on time -- although he hopes to be back even sooner. It's difficult he will play again before January, though. In any case, the Catalan club will take no risks and the aim is for him to be ready for the second half of the season.
