OFFICIAL: Barcelona midfielder Sergi Samper joins Granada on loan
Sergi Samper has completed his loan move from Barcelona to Granada for the 2016/17 season.
The Andalusian club officially announced the deal on Twitter with which they welcomed the player whom they consider as "the pearl of La Masia".
"The young midfielder is one of the great promises of La Masia and attracted interest from many teams in the league, but eventually Samper decided to join to work under Paco Jemez," the statement read.
Samper will be presented to the Granada supporters next week.
As reported by SPORT on Thursday, the possibility of working and accumulating game time under Jemez proved vital in Samper's decision.
It's also important to emphasise the role of Luis Enrique, who at all time was transparent with the player and made him understand that it was best to spend a season away from the Camp Nou.
Samper joined the Barça youth set-up 15 years ago and has progressed through all the youth levels before reaching the first team this season.
