NO: Nobody should forget the Dream Team

NO: Nobody should forget the Dream Team

To speak about whether this is the best squad in FC Barcelona's history is laughable. It's true that the 22 players of the current squad are of great quality but what can we say about the different squads of the Dream Team? Especially the one from season 1993/94.

That campaign, with the limitation on signing foreign players (a maximum of 4 in the squad), and with a president that preferred to have money in the bank rather than on the pitch, Barcelona had the best four players in the world: Ronald Koeman, Michael Laudrup, Hristo Stoichkov and Romario.

It should also be remembered that they had the best players in Spanish football too, such as Andoni Zubizarreta, Albert Ferrer, Sergi Barjuan, Miguel Angel Nadal, Pep Guardiola, Txiki Begiristain... That Barça played the best football in memory, with games that have passed into club folklore, and which caused a total innovation in the world of football.

With Johan Cruyff in charge, Barcelona did not have a fixed starting line-up, and the late Dutch coach had the sufficient genius to choose a different team each week with constant rotations and movement of players.

It was the start of an unforgettable era...
