There were doubts about the amount of police available due to the IndyRef

However, the game will go ahead after Mossos confirmed there's enough cover

On Oct. 1 there will be a referendum in Catalonia over independence and on the same day Barcelona will play Las Palmas, which has led to speculation over the game being suspended.

The reason? Because there is not enough police to guarantee the security of the supporters at the stadium. It's a matter which was analysed at the security meeting called on Thursday by Catalan president Carles Puigdemont.

At the aforementioned board meeting, the body responsible for security matters met with representatives of the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Civil Guard and the National Police in the Palau de la Generalitat.

The referendum coinciding with game could mean there's not enough police and security to cover the game at Camp Nou. However, as revealed by La Vanguardia, the Mossos d'Esquadra have guaranteed that they will have sufficient cover for the match between Barça and Las Palmas, so at no time has the possibility of suspending the match really been considered.
