The three Barça B players in line for a call up for the Granada game

With injuries mounting, Luis Enrique has his eye on three youngsters for this weekend's league game

Barcelona were back in training on Thursday after Tuesday’s Super Cup loss to Espanyol. The players given time off after the Valencia game also returned to the Ciutat Esportiva. With a number of injuries, three Barça B players were called up: Nili, Alex Carbonell and Marlon Santos.

The three took part in the midweek game against Espanyol and could be involved in the squad for Saturday’s game against Granada. Luis Enrique was satisfied with all of their performance. Marlon is the favourite to be called up for the match at Camp Nou. The centre-back worked with the first team in preseason and Jeremy Mathieu’s injury (and Gerard Pique’s) could open the door to him.

It remains to be seen how Aleix Vidal and Rafinha are recovering from their respective injuries. Vidal pulled out of the squad for the Espanyol loss with an injury, although it’s not clear if Luis Enrique would call him up anyway, given how infrequently he’s been used this season. As for Rafinha, he injured his rib in training last Friday and missed the Valencia game. The club haven’t said if he will be back for Granada.
