Neymar was not happy to watch Barça's win over APOEL from the bench

Barcelona's handsome win and all round performance against APEOL left most of the club's travelling party happy. However, there was one player who returned to Barcelona not as happy as the rest. Neymar wasn't able to enjoy the 0-4 win in Nicosia as he'd have liked.

It all has an explanation. The Brazilian was convinced that, after their performance against Sevilla, the favoured attacking trio - himself, Suarez, Messi - would continue. The importance of the game, he felt, would mean Luis Enrique would not make a lot of changes in attack.

Neymar was wrong, though, and hours before the game he learned that Pedro would start and he would be sacrificed. No bad words were exchanged. He took the decision well, although he couldn't hide the occasional gesture which suggested he was unhappy at watching from the bench, especially considering the joy that was to be had by Barça's strikers.

During the 90 minues, Barça's comfortable victory was celebrated on the bench. Messi's hat-trick and Suarez's first goal were greeted with cheers. Neymar was the exception. He was more discreet.

It wasn't a day for his normal laughs and constant joking, which are a product of his good humour and spontaneity. And it didn't go unnoticed on the flight back to Barcelona, where he remained serious and had a visibly annoyed face.

It's not the first time Neymar has been relegated to the bench. In fact, the beginning of the season was not easy for the 22-year-old. Due to injuries, he missed the first game and didn't arrive until the second half in the next match against Villarreal.

Since then he's been one of the bastions of the team. His goals - he's already set to eclipse last season's efforts - have been key so far in the Luis Enrique era.

Along with Suarez and Messi, Neymar is forming what has been called the most lethal attack at the moment. It's only right he'd be upset to miss out on even a minute.
