Neymar Sr. talks about Real Madrid's interest in his son

Neymar’s father has laughed of the recent reports of Real Madrid’s interest in his son.

Los Blancos have been keen to sign the Brazilian since his days at Santos - and Florentino Perez remains a big fan, despite the fact he now plays for Madrid’s biggest rivals.

However, Neymar Sr. says he wouldn’t put Neymar’s life “at risk” by pushing for a mega-money move to the other side of the Clasico divide.

“Neymar has his own life - I can’t force him go to Real Madrid," he said in an interview with ESPN Brazil on Wednesday.

"He’s creating his own history and he’s happy with his life. I can’t put that at risk, he is my son and my client.

"I have to think about his happiness and not just money."

The 23-year-old, whose contract runs until 2018 at Camp Nou, is currently in talks over a new deal with Barcelona.

Despite the delays in getting anything signed, Neymar Sr. confirmed his future remains in Catalonia.

“His future is here, where he has three more years on his contract,” he added.

“The only offer [to sign him] was rejected by Barca - that was from Manchester United, but [Neymar] wants to stay."
