Neymar Sr: My son's future is in Barca's hands

Neymar's future lies with Barça after reportedly agreeing a new contract extension with the club but the "speculative" interest from other clubs has been acknowledged, according to Neymar Sr.

The father and agent of the Brazilian forward revealed to Globoesporte his feelings about his son's protracted negotiations with the Blaugrana and other potential suitors across Europe for the 24-year-old's signature.

"Any news that may come in relation to a potential move has to go by Barça," Neymar Sr began, "We have nothing to talk about because Neymar is under contract [until June 2018]."

Regarding the rumoured interest from clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Real Madrid, Neymar Sr said his son "is used to speculation" before the start of each season.

"Transfer speculation at this time is always great," he concluded, "You know that several teams are interested in Neymar, but that doesn't mean that something is being done or spoken about - speculation will continue regardless."

According to press reports, the fee to terminate Neymar's contract before its end is 190 million euros and in the case of an extension until 2022, that figure would rise to 220 million.
