Neymar Sr: My son will never play for Real Madrid in his career

Neymar will never wear the shirt of Real Madrid in his career, according to the Barça forward's father.

In an interview with FOX Sports Brasil, he said there was "zero chance" that his son will ever play for the Blancos in the future.

"Speculation is rife and it's clear that Neymar is always linked to [Real]," Neymar Sr began, "People know that big clubs are interested in him, but that doesn't mean that we negotiate with them.

"People already talked more than ten thousand time about my son but he has an existing contract with Barça for two more years. He has to fulfil this contract and, besides, the fact is he's happy to be at the club.

"Any [transfer] proposal that comes to us, whatever it is, goes by the club also. We don't talk about this issue because Neymar has a contract."

Neymar has an agreement in place with the Blaugrana to extend his contract until 2022 but as that new contract has yet to be signed by both parties, the rumours that the 24-year-old will leave Catalonia continue to persist.
