Neymar signs contract renewal with FC Barcelona until June 2021

The terms had been agreed in June and the 24-year-old has finally added his signature to the contract

Barcelona forward Neymar at last put pen to paper on his new contract with the club on Friday afternoon. 

The Brazilian forward is now tied to the entity until June 2021, as had been announced at the beginning of July. 

Neymar's first deal with the club, which he signed when he arrived from Santos in 2013, was due to expire in 2018. 

His new release clause has increased from €190m to €200m. It will go up tio €222m un the second year of his deal, while for the final three years it will be €250m.

A statement from the Catalan club read: "This afternoon at the club's offices, Neymar has signed a new contrat with FC Barcelona which will run until Jun. 30, 2021. 

"The release clause will be €200 million for the first year of the contract, €222 million in the second year and €250 million for the remaining three years of the contract. 

"Also present at the signing were president Josep Maria Bartomeu, vice president Jordi Mestre, directors Javier Bordas and Albert Soler, sporting director Robert Fernandez, CEO Oscar Grau.

"At 19.30 on Hora B on Barça TV, there will be an interview with the player."
