Neymar on course to beat Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo goal records

This figure exceeds the 125 Lionel Messi reached at this stage, and the 118 that Cristiano Ronaldo had netted.

However, it must be put in context; Neymar's formative years were at Santos in Brazil, where the standard is less fierce than it is in Europe.

So while Neymar was banging them in between 2009-13 at Santos, Messi played his early games at Barcelona and Cristiano with Sporting Lisbon (2002-03) and Manchester United (2003-07).
