Neymar case: Extraordinary FC Barcelona board meeting today

Neymar case: Extraordinary FC Barcelona board meeting today

The FC Barcelona board of directors will hold an extraordinary meeting on Friday afternoon to discuss the 'Neymar case' following the recent decision by the national tax authorities to accuse the Brazilian forward of corruption.

The club president Josep Maria Bartomeu will meet with all of his directors to analyse the situation and find the best possible solution for FC Barcelona and, in particular, for Neymar.

The idea is to define the path to take going forward, with regards to the judicial process that surrounds the controversial signing of the Brazil international.

One of the demands made by the player and his father (also his agent), to renew his contract with the Catalan club was that these legal issues be resolved and that the player be exonerated of any wrongdoing. There is, therefore, a possibility that the club may assume all responsibility in the process and free the player of further involvement.

This future strategy will be mapped out in the extraordinary board meeting which will take place at 14:00 (Spanish time) at the club's offices.
