The economic 'overtaking' of Barça over Real Madrid

The record revenues of Barcelona, which has allowed the Blaugrana to overtake rivals Real Madrid, hasn't gone unnoticed.

Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted figures of the Catalan club who reached 679 million euros in revenue for the 2015/16 season before taxes and a net income that could be between 630 and 635 million.

Real remained at 620 million net and only Manchester United seem able to beat those numbers. According to estimates by the Italian sports daily, United have benefited from new multi million pound contracts as an aggregate from Premier League television rights or sponsorship deals with Chevrolet and Adidas.

Thus, the Red Devils would receive a revenue between 500 and 510 million pounds that, before the "Brexit", amounted in the region of 670 and 680 million euros.
