A new Tebas attack on Barça's players: I would be ashamed to pretend like that

The La Liga president wasn't impressed with Saturday's events at Mestalla

The president of Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP) Javier Tebas launched a monumental attack against Barcelona’s players in a video with SportYou after the LFP Gala in Valencia on Monday.

Tebas criticised the attitude of the Barça players before and after being struck by a bottle thrown from the stands at Mestalla after Luis Enrique’s side secured a stoppage time 3-2 win at the weekend.

Valencia have identified the individual as a youngster under the age of 17 and have announced that they will have the season ticket taken off the supporter.

Tebas, speaking to SportYou about that information, criticised Neymar’s role in the events. The president, who in theory represents every club, said that Barcelona’s players went down “like a game of skittles” and without motive.

“There are millions of kids watching; I would be ashamed to pretend [like they did],” he said in reference to the Blaugrana players.

Tebas made the comments after the LFP Gala and he also showed his disappointment at no Barca players attending the event, despite awards being given to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
